A tweet-based journal of what I’ve been playing…
Just won a run of @RingOfPain! If you haven't seen it, it's a super streamlined interpretation of the loot-based dungeon crawler. Minus all the walking around, but centered around the decisions (which are usually way more ambiguous than the old "replace +1 sword with +2 sword"). pic.twitter.com/TRDUI9MzPz

Despot's Game (@Despotism_3k) is not just a strategic #roguelike, but probably the most promising attempt at making a single-player auto battler I've seen yet. Looking forward to where this goes on its way to full release! pic.twitter.com/QJo2ShRego

Lockdown is perfectly fine as long as your chess engine tells you that this cool move you made was better than best. 🥰 pic.twitter.com/wttZ3pyy51

That moment when you check back to see what's going on in @PlayGwent after many months and realize monsters are just playing 25+ strength critters every turn these days… pic.twitter.com/gBykOjTdaY

Circadian Dice by @syberfeldt is a great dice-building #roguelike! Really appreciate the transparency of the rules and clear tooltips that always tell you everything you need to know. Lots of variety thanks to dozens of unlocks too. Highly recommended!

Finally found the time to dive into @inkbyteart's Vault of the Void. If you're a fan of the #roguelike card game formula, it's a super easy recommendation. Learns from the greats, but does enough unique things to set it apart.
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) February 1, 2021
Also those 250+ damage turns feel pretty awesome! 🤩 pic.twitter.com/sDnS6u68qQ
Time to check out some of those #SteamFestival demos!@Tristan__Dahl's Tip Top will make your fingers feel like they actually climbed a mountain. Great alignment of theme and mechanics! pic.twitter.com/50XhnyIhRT

The Amazing American Circus (@CircusAmazing) mixes the deck-building card battler formula with… circus management? Well that's one more unique indie game at the #SteamFestival! pic.twitter.com/qC8S49EqeV

As soon as I saw that bright SAFE ROOM on the map, I kind of had a feeling…
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) February 4, 2021
Quite the prologue you got there @digitales_games! If you're into adventures, check out the Lacuna #SteamFestival demo! pic.twitter.com/z6zO6VCqva
Loop Hero by @_FQteam may be one of the most interesting #SteamFestival demos! Your hero dude goes around in circles and you place down structures to help out (or spawn more monsters to gather more loot)! Simple, but unique and clever!
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) February 5, 2021
Another great pickup by @devolverdigital! pic.twitter.com/XgaR9cSm2I
Today I managed to win a campaign of Gem Wizards Tactics by @kburgungames! It's on its way to become one of the best tactics games out there. Lots of emergent interactions and potential for clever maneuvers!
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) February 5, 2021
Yet another #gamedesign highlight coming from @keithburgun! pic.twitter.com/Q1oPGZiPsX
Back to Vault of the Void! Went through all the class variations on normal, then returned to "The Blade" in hard mode. Got quite tricky, had to keep an eye on my deck's defensive capabilities.
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) February 7, 2021
Well done tweaking those difficulty knobs @inkbyteart! 👌 pic.twitter.com/kgt90FjEOH
Yay! Very nice Loop Hero demo @_FQteam! Looking forward to the full release arriving next month. pic.twitter.com/qTacPCmHlX

Slipways was easily among the top #SteamGameFestival demos. Beta sign-ups are open, so get in there!
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) February 9, 2021
Also, hyperlanes technology is insane! 😀 https://t.co/i5l7hBYoZ3 pic.twitter.com/kRUAjqsd5d
Carcassonne meets tower defense meets #roguelike deckbuilder in @OrXgame. If that genre mix sounds intriguing to you, check out the demo on Steam! Will certainly keep an eye on it. pic.twitter.com/Mub0mKjWnA

I admit it. I have a soft spot for ski jumping games. Pixel Pro Ski Jump by @pixamogames is a simple yet charming one that I couldn't put down until that sweet triple world cup victory. pic.twitter.com/cG4OdUW5fX

"Let's check out what this @Valheimgame hype is all about… oh, weekend's over?"
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) February 14, 2021
Terarria-like progression combined with one of the few open worlds worth exploring and Souls-esque combat that keeps you on your toes through the grind indeed make for quite the intriguing package. pic.twitter.com/DNXriSaOYM
"Guess you don't love how I'm wearing your sibling on my head, huh?"
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) February 19, 2021
Cool #gamedesign bit: @Valheimgame is designed around a core mechanism: stamina. When you're out mining, you have to watch your back so you don't get attacked while "out of breath". Helps avoid the dull grind! pic.twitter.com/h7Q3Es1BSd
Fights in Tight Spaces (@Fightsgame) is now in Early Access. It's a cool #roguelike card game about close-quarters combat situations. Lots of positioning and trickery going on, feels kind of like a card game version of Into the Breach. Excited to see where it goes from here! pic.twitter.com/Q7EOseJDmN
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) February 25, 2021
Luck be a Landlord by @TrampolineTales is likely the best slot machine you've played. It boils down the (#roguelike) deck-builder to picking synergies. The deck then "plays itself" to hopefully generate enough value. Still quite random but definitely a unique twist on the genre! pic.twitter.com/CvzwT3OW93
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) March 2, 2021
Hey @Valheimgame, need more bosses plz! 😜
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) March 5, 2021
Seriously though, thanks for making a game that's challenging my (at this point rather cynical) perspective on open worlds / survival / crafting and shows these systems can be so much more than exercises in workification and grind. pic.twitter.com/XawOMCBied
Bum-bo had a rocky launch back in the day, but at its core it was a great game. Easily the best "tile-matcher" since Puzzle Quest. I'm enjoying returning to it with this (free) expansion a lot, as it's finally also in the technical state it deserves. Also on sale, give it a look! https://t.co/iDL8UVfRJm pic.twitter.com/yrGzH5Ygyh

After a couple of hours (and many more deaths) of figuring out where I even was on the map in #EscapeFromTarkov, extracting for the first time with *any* loot on you has an undeniable thrill to it! 🤪
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) March 9, 2021
Certainly a fascinatingly ungentle gaming experience in our day and age… pic.twitter.com/oZY6zwCTnG
It's #FollowFriday #FF! Time to highlight another #IndieDev!
— Fabian Fischer (@Ludokultur) March 26, 2021
A team of just 4 people is making a wacky Dieselpunk version of Escape from Tarkov called @game_marauder. They're doing a great job so far with regular updates as milestones for their fig campaign. Tons of potential! pic.twitter.com/8NITxiIunC
